Sergey Shlyapnikov’s team needed a victory in a game against Iran and they managed to do it, even though they had some difficulties in the first set, giving a huge effort to make a comeback and to take the lead 1-0.

In another two sets, Russia set the control and won the game 3-0 (26-24, 25-18, 25-18).

Egor Kliuka (13) and Ilyas Kurkaev (11) were the top scorers in Russia, while Mojtaba Mirzajanpour had 12 points on the other side.
