Maybe it was not the win of the same weight, but the Brazilian National Team took revenge on France for a defeat in the finals of the 2017 FIVB World League.
In the 2017 Grand Champions Cup opener in Nagoya, Renan Dal Zotto’s protégés outclassed a weakened „Team Yavbou“ in straight sets, but each was competitive until the very end, 27-25, 27-25, 25-22.
Ricardo Lucarelli routed the „Seleção“ with 15 points, while Stéphen Boyer took the leadership on the field for France, in the absence of Ngapeth and Le Roux, with 11 points.

FIVB should think about the future of this competition. Why does this need to be played and certainly right after an already very long international season, certainly for European teams? There are no points to earn here for the world-ranking either so why is this tournament neccesary anyway?
