Laurent Tillie formed a group of 21 players to compete in the first edition of the FIVB Volleyball Nations League, shortening the preliminary list for the 2018 international season by four players. Out of these 21 players, he will choose 14 for each weekend of the tournament.
The setter Toafa Takaniko (Ajaccio), opposite Timothée Carle (Ajaccio), and middle blockers Kevin Kaba (Montpellier) and Quentin Jouffroy (Tours) were left out of the preliminary list. Despite being on the new list, a new member of Revivre Milano (Italy), Trévor Clévenot, will not be able to help France from the start of the competition as he is undergoing a process of healing his shoulder.
