In Pool 4 of Week 1, Brazil surpassed tournament’s hosts Serbia in straight sets but with each one being highly competitive.

Interestingly, in all of the three sets of the match in Kraljevo, neither of the teams was up more than two or three points. Actually, Serbia were the ones who had a two-point lead in all three sets before „Seleção“ managed to come back starting from the middle of each one.

The opening set ended with a monster kill by Wallace Souza (25-22) while the second was closed with a service error of Nikola Mijailović (25-22). The third set was sealed with an ace of Bruno Rezende „Bruninho“ on the first match ball (26-24). Serbia failed to convert theirs at 24-23.

Wallace top scored Brazil with 17 points, including 5 kill blocks! Aleksandar Atanasijević scored 15 points for Serbia.

In the match that closed Day 1 of the 2018 FIVB Nations League, Pool 1 hosts France beat Iran in four sets but could have ended the match in three. The „Team Yavbou“ had a 2-0 and 15-10 in the second set. They even had the match ball at 24-22 but lost it and had to regain the dominance in the continuation of the match – 25-20, 24-26, 25-20, 25-17.

Earvin Ngapeth tallied 18 points for France. Nicolas Le Goff made 4 kill blocks. Amir Ghafour scored 18 points as well but for Iran while Seyed Mousavi made 4 kill blocks.
