“I’m on a euphoric trip,” said Leonie Schwertmann, the 19-year-old middle blocker for USC MUNSTER. She is still in high school.
“Me and my parents really liked the boarding school concept in Munster,” she explains her decision to play here.
“I am determined, try to plan everything and fulfill my dreams. I had to wait long for my place in the national junior team. In the pre-season, I was the fourth middle blocker in USC. Now I’m where I wanted to be.“
Her contract expires in June
And then? “I am studying Business Administration specializing in sports management,” she says. But of course she will also continue working on her career as a player. In June when her contract expires it would be good for her to stay in Munster. “I have not yet received an official statement from USC,” but the club officials are pleased with her “We are very interested in her further commitment,” said USC President.
Interest from Wiesbaden?
VC Wiesbaden showed interest for Schwertmann. She denies the contact with them, but says, however: “Wiesbaden is a club that I like.“
