In a dominant performance, Allianz MTV Stuttgart secured their fifth DVV Cup victory by defeating SC Potsdam with a straight-set win (25-14, 25-19, 25-15) in Mannheim’s SAP Arena. This victory came in a rematch of the championship finals from the past two seasons, with Stuttgart controlling the game from the start. The standout player of the match was Stuttgart’s opposite Krystal Rivers, who scored a total of 25 points.
The match began with Stuttgart finding their rhythm quicker, despite Potsdam’s early efforts to turn the game around. Stuttgart’s attackers proved too strong at the net and by Stuttgart’s outside hitter Jolien Knollema attack they closed the first set. The second set mirrored the first with Stuttgart again taking an early lead. Despite a comeback effort from Potsdam, Stuttgart maintained control. The final set showcased Stuttgart’s dominance, as they led convincingly throughout. Despite Potsdam’s resilience in saving the first match point, Stuttgart sealed the victory on their second attempt.
