Michiel Ahyi from Helios Grizzlys Giesen led the match in scoring with a total of 26 points, achieving a 65% attack rate, in addition to 2 blocks and 2 aces. On the VfB Friedrichshafen side, Michal Superlak was the leading scorer with 20 points, while Tim Peter contributed an additional 18 points.

The teams are set to face off again on Saturday, March 30, at the Spacetech Arena in Friedrichshafen for the second game of the series. Friedrichshafen aims to even the score and keep their hopes alive, while a win for Giesen could give them a significant advantage moving forward.

Head coach Mark Lebedew expressed mixed feelings, praising the team’s effort and resilience despite the loss and highlighting the focus on evening the series in the upcoming home match.
