In volleyball clash that lasted two and a half hours, VfB Friedrichshafen narrowly missed victory in a tie-break defeat against Helios Grizzlys Giesen, with a final score of 2-3 (22-25, 22-25, 25-19, 25-21, 17-19) in the first match of their best-of-five semi-final series. Despite a remarkable comeback, Friedrichshafen couldn’t clinch the win.
Michiel Ahyi from Helios Grizzlys Giesen led the match in scoring with a total of 26 points, achieving a 65% attack rate, in addition to 2 blocks and 2 aces. On the VfB Friedrichshafen side, Michal Superlak was the leading scorer with 20 points, while Tim Peter contributed an additional 18 points.
The teams are set to face off again on Saturday, March 30, at the Spacetech Arena in Friedrichshafen for the second game of the series. Friedrichshafen aims to even the score and keep their hopes alive, while a win for Giesen could give them a significant advantage moving forward.
