The Berlin Recycling Volleys have started the new volleyball season just like they ended the last — with a trophy. The defending champions claimed their fourth consecutive Ligacup title, beating SVG Lüneburg 3-1 (25-20, 25-21, 25-27, 26-24) in a thrilling final.

Just like last season’s playoff finale, the two teams met again — and once more, Berlin came out on top. With Jake Hanes leading the attack and Fedor Ivanov setting up perfectly, the BR Volleys controlled most of the match. Lüneburg’s Daniel Gruvaeus shined on the other side and was named Tournament MVP.
In other results, VfB Friedrichshafen took third place after a 3-1 win over WWK Volleys Herrsching, while SWD powervolleys Düren finished fifth, beating Energiequelle Netzhoppers KW 3-1. FT 1844 Freiburg claimed seventh place after defeating hosts Helios GRIZZLYS Giesen in a five-set thriller.
With this win, the BR Volleys continue their incredible streak and kick off the 2025/26 season as the team to beat.
