United Volleys Rhein-Main swept TV Rottenburg on the road by a 3-0 (25-18, 25-23, 25-19) in Round 18 to isolate themselves at No.3 in the standings and secure a quarterfinal playoff berth, having huge chances to stay there in the remained two rounds of the regular season. The Australian Lincoln Williams topped United Volleys with 21 points.
SWD powervolleys Düren moved up from No.5 to No.4 as they scored a straight-set win against the last-placed Bergische Volleys, partially 25-21, 25-13, 25-15. Marvin Prolingheuer scored 19 points for the winning side. The Latvian Romāns Saušs served 6 aces, while Canadian libero Blair Bann made 77% reception (13 digs). The Australian Samuel Boehm delivered 10 points for Bergische Volleys.
So far, only VfB Friedrichshafen (No.1), Berlin Recycling Volleys (No.2) and United Volleys (seed still unknown) punched automatic tickets for the playoff quarterfinals, in which top six sides in the regular season will qualify. The next four teams will play the 8th finals of the playoffs.
