Supported by more than 2’000 fans, the hosts caught a good start going up 8:3 and 16:13 in the first set; Azerrail fought its way back flipping the charts around (21:22) but a mistake committed by Dutch star Manon Flier eventually paved the way for the final 26-24 in favor of the local heroines. The second set looked like a relatively easy task for DRESDNER SC that headed into the final rush with a margin of five (23:18) before BAKU stormed back to draw level at 23 all. Still Judith Pietersen scored the next point and another error by Azerrail contributed the 2:0 for the home side. Azerrail got back on track in set 3 showing a very good performance to re-open the fate of the game before the fourth set turned into an incredible fight. DRESDNER SC got to the front (15:12) but had some problems in reception so Azerrail turned the score around going up by five (17:22). It was not yet the end as DRESDNER SC scored 8 consecutive points and could celebrate a great home win as youngster Lisa Izquierdo cashed the last point after 102 minutes.
