The Greek Women’s Volleyball Championship record titleholders Panathinaikos AO announced the beginning of a cooperation with ‘Oranje’ standout Maret Grothues.

The captain of the Dutch National Team, Maret Grothues, signed for Panathinaikos AO for the 2021/22 season. A 32-year-old outside hitter came to the Greek Championship record titleholders (24 titles) from Turkey’s Aydın B.Şehir Bld. where she spent the last two seasons.

Undoubtedly, Panathinaikos gained a great player with a heavy volleyball résumé, who has more than 250 appearances for the national team of her country and was named Best Server of the 2010 FIVB World Championship. Grothues is also known for winning the first-ever employment dispute on appeal between volleyball player and club in front of the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS).
