The champions Imoco Volley Conegliano prolonged their perfect record in the 2019/20 Lega Pallavolo Serie A Femminile regular season to four games and did it in a stylish manner. Not even Èpiù Pomì Casalmaggiore managed to snatch a set from the “Panthers“. When Imoco survived the opening set in which they committed as much as 9 errors, everything went easier for them afterward: 3-0 (25-21, 25-16, 25-18). Paola Egunu drove Imoco with 19 points. The captain Caterina Bosetti scored 11 points for Casalmaggiore.
The superb output of the Pole Malwina Smarzek (33 points, including 4 kill blocks) was in vain as Zanetti Bergamo fall to the team play of Savino Del Bene Scandicci. The visitors might not have had a player who stood out like Smarzek but had as many as 11 players who managed to score at least one point. They were led by Dutch Lonneke Slöetjes (14 points).
Unet E-Work Busto Arsizio proved stronger than Banca Valsabbina Millenium Brescia despite performing without both liberos (Leonardi fractured the little finger of the right hand this morning, Wang not available), while starting setter Orro did not have strength for the whole match: 3-1 (28-30, 25-21, 25-18, 25-16). Busto head coach Lavarini was forced to use outside hitter Gennari as libero and Cumino as starting setter. American Karsta Lowe highlighted for the winning side with 19 points. Camilla Mingardi scored 23 for Brescia.
