Imoco Volley Conegliano overcame the most difficult obstacle in the 2019/20 Italian Women’s Volleyball Championship regular season.

Imoco Volley Conegliano are still undefeated in the Lega Pallavolo Serie A Femminile regular season (5-0) but they had to work hard to keep this status. Newcomers to the league Golden Tulip VolAlto 2.0 Caserta became the first team to rip off at least one set from Imoco – they took two: 3-2 (25-22, 21-25, 25-18, 21-25, 15-13). An experienced American outside hitter Kimberly Hill top-scored for Imoco with 19 points. Imoco’s star Paola Egonu did not play much today. She was not in the line-up and only played the turning points of the match.

Èpiù Pomì Casalmaggiore dropped the match that went smoothly into their favor out of hands but recovered on time to outplay Zanetti Bergamo: 3-2 (25-17, 25-22, 24-26, 20-25, 15-13). The most deserving player for this outcome was Cuban international Kenia Carcaces, who scored 23 points.

Savino Del Bene Scandicci staged an outstanding comeback on the road against Saugella Team Monza, from 0-2 to 3-2. For this, they can thank Polish teenager Magdalena Stysiak, who poured in 34 points, including 5 aces.

Il Bisonte Firenze imposed dominance in an away match against Reale Mutua Fenera Chieri (0-3) and definitely became the most pleasant surprise in the championship so far. Prospect Sylvia Nwakalor was the most effective player for the winning side with 13 points but through only a 37% attack (11/30). Il Bisonte follow the leaders Imoco in the charts with 4-1 and 12 points.

Led by Anna Nicoletti (19 points), Lardini Filottrano recorded a first win this season, which came after a two-set deficit against Bartoccini Fortinfissi Perugia: 3-2 (24-26, 21-25, 25-13, 25-23, 15-13). Even 35 points from Brazilian Rosamaria Montibeller did not help Perugia to break the ice in Serie A!
