It was an easy task for the side from Italy that registered excellent figures in attack as well as in reception (66% and 52% respectively), killing 7 blocks, while their guests from Cyprus could not stand the quality displayed by the home side (they chartered 14% of efficiency in attack and 35% in defense). PIACENZA added to their count also 11 aces vs. only 1 for LIMASSOL. Floortje Meijners top scored for the home side with 18 points with Carmen Turlea, Manuela Secolo and Laura Nicolini also finishing the game in double digits. Libero Stefania Sansonna contributed to this win with 73% of efficiency in reception, waiting for the return match scheduled for January 23 in Limassol.

“We started the game quite cautious because we did not know anything about our opponents but we did a good job by imposing our game without losing composure and focus. This is a real risk especially if you’re dominating the match as clearly as we did tonight” said head coach Davide Mazzanti.
