The curtain has fallen on the amazing career of Italian male volleyball player Alessandro Fei.

At the age of 41, the Italian opposite (former middle blocker) Fei has announced via Facebook Live the farewell to volleyball. He’ll embark on a new career – a team manager of Gas Sales Piacenza, the club in which ended his playing career.

The best scorer in the history of the Italian Championship (set the new record in November 2019), has won 4 titles in that competition (all with Sisley Treviso, who longer exist), as well as 5 Italian Cups, 6 Super Cups, 1 CEV Champions League (with Sisley in 2006), 3 CEV Cups, and 1 CEV Challenge Cup. With the Italy National Team, Fei claimed the 1998 FIVB World Championship, as well as the CEV EuroVolley and FIVB Volleyball Nations League twice each.

Individually, among other titles, he was awarded MVP of the CEV Champions League once.
