The five-time FIVB Men’s Volleyball Club World Championship winners, Itas Trentino, strengthened their outside hitter’s position with Italy-Dutch player Dick Kooy.

The new 2020 summer transfer market deal of Trentino, who’ll wear their jersey for the next two seasons, is the Dutch-born player Kooy.

The 32-year-old outside hitter arrived in Trentino after an excellent season with Gas Sales Piacenza. Since returning to the SuperLega courts in 2019, after six years, Kooy has gained the right to compete for the Italy National Team and made a debut in the 2019 FIVB World Cup, successfully replaced the Dutch sports nationality with the new one.

While defending the colors of Piacenza, a former member of the National Team of The Netherlands appeared in the top 10 on the lists of the best scorers and the best servers of the 2019/20 SuperLega regular season.

Kooy is good but not inthe same caliber as Russell, Trentino is definitely a weaker team for the up coming season.

Dick Kooy is a really solid player who has been very consistent in his pro career. Gaining him and Rossini are very very good Italian additions. That being said the loss of Grebennikov, Russell and Kovacevic will be significant.
Ultimately I will cheer for a healthy uninterrupted A1 season….fans or no fans….We need to play volleyball!!!
