Perugia appealed to the Italian National Olympic Committee (CONI) against the Italian Volleyball Federation (FIPAV), also mentioning Cucine Lube Civitanova in the application.
The one-time SuperLega titleholders weren’t satisfied with the resolution of the President and Federal Council of FIPAV to declare the rankings at the moment of cancellation of the club season as official. Such a decision meant that, because of finishing third, Perugia were put in the last, fourth seeding pot for the 2021 CEV Champions League Drawing of Lots. At the same time, the first-placed Cucine Lube Civitanova and second-placed Leo Shoes Modena were put in the first seeding pot.
However, the CONI rejected the appeal of Perugia, which means that Italian teams will be seeded for the Champions League as initially established.
