Piacenza reached the 5-5 record in the 2020/21 SuperLega Credem Banca regular season after stunning Milano on the road in four sets in Round 11. Partially, it was 23-25, 25-16, 25-22, and 25-19.

It was the only match in the league scheduled for today. With the completion of the remaining matches tomorrow, the first part of the men’s season in Italy will be over. However, many encounters didn’t take place earlier due to the Covid-19 pandemic so the first part of the season is to end tomorrow only on paper.

German Georg Grozer was Piacenza’s most prolific player against Milano with 21 points.

So this was a dominant and impressive road win for Piacenza. Baranowicz is getting a better connection to the outside and smartly is forcing more middle action.
I have really been impressed with the growth of Scanferia. He and Clevernot are passing much better. With the addition of Mousavi and Russell and Grozer playing at such a high level, Gas Sales is going to make a serious move in the 2nd half of the season.
As far as the league, Trentino has been a major dissapointment, Modena under Christenson leadership has been terrific, Monza remains dangerous, and overall the league is very competitive and fun.
Lube and Perugia may not be there at the end.
The league needs to find a way to increase its exposure worldwide, imo
