Cuban-Polish Wilfredo León unleashed his monstrous serves (seven aces) as Perugia took strong revenge on Trentino for the elimination in the semi-finals of the Super Cup, two weeks ago. Angelo Lorenzetti’s players experienced a true nightmare in which they failed taming 12 aces of the ’Block Devils’ in this Round 5 match of the 2021/22 SuperLega Credem Banca. Trentino could not count on the help of Alessandro Michieletto (injured in the last round). Perugia achieved the fourth victory in as many games, remaining the only unbeaten team of the tournament after the crash of Gas Sales Bluenergy Piacenza against Vero Volley Monza (0-3). León top-scored the side coached by Nikola Grbić with 21 points.

Cucine Lube Civitanova silenced 5,000 fans of Allianz Milano with a clear 3-0 victory on the road but it didn’t come without a fight – partially 28-26, 28-26, and 25-23. The match marked the return of two highly important players of Lube, who missed a few games each – Juantorena and Kovář. Cuban Robertlandy Simón top-scored the winning side with 13 points (four blocks).

Verona Volley celebrated their first victory. The wards of Radostin Stoytchev prevailed over Gioiella Prisma Taranto, which resisted until the tie-break. Slovenian Rok Možič excelled for Verona with 25 points. Lorenzo Cortesia made four blocks.
