Sir Safety Susa Perugia beat Itas Trentino 3-2 in the semi-final of the 2022 Italian Men’s Super Cup (Del Monte® Supercoppa 2022) and scheduled a decider for the trophy with Cucine Lube Civitanova. It was truly a high-level challenge that rightly saw its epilogue in the tie-break following five very balanced sets. Angelo Lorenzetti’s team started better and won the first set, but then had to chase the rival to force the tie-break, in which they had no chance.

Kamil Semeniuk showed the most consistent play in the match, collecting 20 points (4 aces) for Perugia, who excelled in blocking as a team (18 stuffs). Six of these were made by Roberto Russo.

Respecting the predictions, Cucine Lube Civitanova became the first finalist in the competition. Gianlorenzo ‘Chicco’ Blengini’s team beat Valsa Group Modena by a sharp 3-0, doing it without Ivan Zaytsev and Marlon Yant. Thus, the Italian champions repeated their dominance over the same rivals of October 16, albeit with an extra dose of effort.

The Puerto Rican-American opposite, Gabriel García ‘Gabi’, top-scored the winning side with 15 points.
