In an intense semifinal match of the ‘Trofeo Ferramenta Astori’ quadrangular tournament in Montichiari, Itas Trentino emerged victorious against Valsa Group Modena with a 3-2 win. Trentino fought hard in the five-set encounter, securing their spot in the final against Rana Verona, who defeated Piacenza 3-1 in the other semifinal.
Despite Modena’s strong challenge, Trentino maintained a solid performance, especially in the first, second, and deciding fifth sets. With standout performances from players like Michieletto (18 points), Flavio (11 points), and Rychlicki (17 points), Trentino’s offense shined, boasting a 55% team success rate. However, difficulties in serving consistency—concentrated only in the early stages of the match—did pose challenges.
Coach Fabio Soli expressed satisfaction with his team’s resilience, noting the lessons learned and their ability to persevere even when not at their best. The team will now face Verona in the final on Sunday to wrap up their pre-season preparation.
