RUS W: 2024/25 Women’s PARI Super League Kicks Off with Omichka vs. Sparta Showdown

The 2024/25 season of the Russian Women’s Superliga kicked off today, September 14th, with an intense match between Omichka (Omsk Region) and Sparta (Nizhny Novgorod). After a fierce five-set battle, Omichka emerged victorious with a scoreline of 25-22, 23-25, 25-20, 23-25, 18-16.

This season’s competition is designated as an “Open” competition, with the participation of the Belarusian team Minchanka (Minsk). A total of 14 teams will compete for the championship title.

  • Dinamo-Ak Bars (Kazan) – defending champions
  • Lokomotiv (Kaliningrad Region) – 2023/24 PARI Superliga silver medalists
  • Leningradka (Saint Petersburg) – 2023/24 PARI Superliga bronze medalists
  • Dynamo (Moscow), Proton (Saratov), Dynamo Metar (Chelyabinsk), Tulitsa (Tula Region), Uralochka NTMK (Sverdlovsk Region), Dinamo (Krasnodar), Yenisei (Krasnoyarsk), Zarechie Odintsovo (Moscow Region), Sparta (Nizhny Novgorod), Minchanka (Minsk, Belarus), and Omichka (Omsk Region).

Tournament Format:

The league kicks off with a round-robin stage from September 14, 2024, to March 6, 2025. The top eight teams will advance to the playoffs, starting with quarterfinals in March. The playoffs will follow a best-of-three series format, with the finals for both gold and bronze medals scheduled for April.

The last-placed team will be relegated to the Higher League “A” for the 2025/26 season, while the 13th-placed team will face a promotion/relegation playoff.
