The action begins at the Eurosuole Forum on Saturday, September 28th, at 8:30 PM (6:30 PM UTC), where a revamped Cucine Lube Civitanova faces a spirited Sonepar Padova. Civitanova, under new head coach Giampaolo Medei and featuring eight new players, will be without Alex Nikolov, who is recovering from back surgery, and possibly Barthelemy Chinenyeze. Sonepar Padova, led by Jacopo Cuttini, aims to capitalize on their preseason momentum, with standout performances from Marko Sedlacek and the hopeful return of rising star Mattia Orioli.

Sunday’s marathon of matches kicks off at 4:00 PM CET (2:00 PM UTC) with the Emilia derby at PalaBancaSport. Gas Sales Bluenergy Piacenza, coached by Andrea Anastasi, hosts Valsa Group Modena under the guidance of Alberto Giuliani. With the rivalry evenly split over 19 previous meetings, both teams are eager to tip the scales in their favor. Piacenza enters the match after a challenging 3-1 loss to Perugia in the Del Monte® Supercoppa semifinal, while Modena seeks to bounce back from a preseason defeat to Civitanova.

At 5:00 PM CET (3:00 PM UCT), Gioiella Prisma Taranto welcomes Allianz Milano to the PalaMazzola arena. Taranto, energized by a record number of season ticket holders, looks to make a strong impression against a Milano squad that secured third place and a CEV Champions League berth last season.

The excitement continues at 5:30 PM CET (3:30PM UCT) when reigning Italian champions Sir Susa Vim Perugia take on Rana Verona at the PalaBarton. Fresh off their sixth Del Monte® Supercoppa victory, Perugia aims to maintain their dominance. Rana Verona, known for their ability to challenge top teams, seeks to upset the champions in this early-season showdown.

At 6:00 PM CET (4:00 PM UCT), Cisterna Volley faces a tough test against European champions Itas Trentino. Cisterna, led by Guillermo Falasca, hopes to leverage home-court advantage. Trentino arrives determined to rebound from their narrow Supercoppa final loss to Perugia, showcasing talents like Gabi Garcia and aiming to start their league campaign with a victory.

The day’s action concludes at 7:00 PM CET (5:00 PM UCT) with a historic moment for Yuasa Battery Grottazzolina. Making their SuperLega debut at the PalaSavelli in Porto San Giorgio, they face Mint Vero Volley Monza. Grottazzolina, guided by coach Massimiliano Ortenzi, looks to make an immediate impact against a Monza team that reached three finals last season.
