The Play Off Semifinals of SuperLega Credem Banca started off with fireworks as Sir Susa Vim Perugia delivered a powerful 3-0 win over Cucine Lube Civitanova on their home turf at PalaBarton Energy Arena. The energy in the stands was electric, and the home team didn’t disappoint the 4,738 fans in attendance.

With set scores of 25-22, 25-19, 25-22, Perugia proved they were ready for playoff intensity. Even though Civitanova came out swinging—despite missing their captain Balaso—the match was packed with grit, long rallies, and nail-biting moments. But in the end, Perugia’s defense and balanced attack were just too much.

Oleh Plotnytskyi led the charge with 14 points, while Kamil Semeniuk and Wasim Ben Tara each chipped in with 10. But the true hero of the night? Libero Massimo Colaci, whose relentless hustle and pinpoint digs earned him the MVP title.

“This is just our first step,” Colaci said after the match. “We’ve still got a long series ahead. It might’ve been a 3-0 on paper, but it was anything but easy out there. Now it’s about cleaning up the little things and coming back even stronger for Game 2.”

Civitanova’s Francesco Bisotto wasn’t discouraged: “Sure, their serve gave us trouble, but we had some good stretches. We’ll go back, regroup, and come back fighting. This series is far from over.”

Looking Ahead:
The other semifinal between Itas Trentino and Gas Sales Bluenergy Piacenza is set for Sunday, April 6th.
