Italy Unveils 25-Man Squad for 2025 Men’s Volleyball World Championship in Manila

The Italian Volleyball Federation officially announced its 25-player roster submitted to the FIVB for the upcoming 2025 Men’s Volleyball World Championship, set to take place in Manila, Philippines, from September 12 to 28.

The reigning World Champions, guided by head coach Ferdinando De Giorgi, will trim this provisional squad down to 14 final players who will represent Italy in their title defense.

Italy will begin their group stage journey on September 14 against Algeria, followed by matches versus Belgium on September 16 and Ukraine on September 18.

  • Setters: Simone Giannelli, Riccardo Sbertoli, Mattia Boninfante, Paolo Porro
  • Opposites: Kamil Rychlicki, Yuri Romanò, Alessandro Bovolenta, Tommaso Guzzo
  • Outside Hitters: Daniele Lavia, Alessandro Michieletto, Mattia Bottolo, Francesco Recine, Luca Porro, Francesco Sani, Davide Gardini
  • Middle Blockers: Simone Anzani, Roberto Russo, Gianluca Galassi, Giovanni Gargiulo, Giovanni Sanguinetti, Lorenzo Cortesia, Edoardo Caneschi
