In a short official statement, the club thanked Bernardi for his three seasons in charge and wished him well for the future, offering no further details despite a contract that was set to run until 2027.

During his tenure, Bernardi led Novara to key successes, including the Challenge Cup (2023–2024) and the CEV Cup the following season, as well as the WEVZA Cup in 2023 and the Courmayeur Cup this year.

Reports of an imminent split had been growing in recent weeks, amid signs of a deteriorating relationship. Bernardi’s next step remains unclear, though a move abroad appears likely. His final game in charge took place at Palaverde, a venue that holds historic significance in his playing career.
