The 25-year old Neriman is moving to Italy after spending the last couple of seasons with Galatasaray Daikin ISTANBUL. “I have decided to make this change especially because I wanted to play with the team from Conegliano, it will be quite an experience for me and I am convinced that we can win,” she says. “Last year I came to Treviso to play Imoco at the Palaverde and I had good feelings, there was a great atmosphere, the stands were packed and there was a lot of enthusiasm around the team. I believe that it is every athlete’s dream to play in a place like that and surrounded by so many fans that support the team so passionately. To play for them provides an extra boost.”

Galatasaray has so many fans as well, and we create very passionate athmospheres for football and basketball teams. Neriman is partially right about the fact that we do not pay attention to volleyball teams enough. One of the reason for that is our men’s and women’s teams do lack passionate players, and they are beaten easily by strong rivals like Vakifbank, Eczacibasi, Arkas or Halkbank. I support my team in the voleyball hall many times, I just saw this passion in the team only against vakifbank last year’s semifinals, thanks to Madelayne Montano. Neriman was not there against Vakifbank at all. We thank Neriman for the last two years in our jersey and wish her the very best in Italy.
