Maret Grothues is the third new face in Bolzano after French Christina Bauer and Valeria Papa and will return to Serie A1 after three years.

The 27-year-old receiver/outside hitter came from Poland where she was a member of OrlenLiga runners-up PGE Atom Trefl Sopot.

Grothues, a two-time Dutch and French champion, is currently engaged with the Dutch National Team in the 2016 FIVB World Grand Prix, with which she advanced to the Final Six in Bangkok, Thailand (July 6-10). Afterwards, she will compete at the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, in August.
