Italian media pounced on Luca Vettori, opposite hitter of Italy, who was the only player from Men’s Volleyball National Team who did not sign the letter addressed to the mayor of Rome.

“I’d love to play an Olympics in Rome. But from a political point of view, the city would not be ready to host such an event because the disadvantages outweigh the advantages,” Vettori said and appalled Italian public.
