The race for the SV.League playoffs just got a little clearer! JTEKT Stings Aichi and Tokyo Great Bears have officially secured their spots, joining Osaka Bluteon, Wolfdogs Nagoya, and Suntory Sunbirds Osaka. That leaves just one final playoff spot up for grabs as the regular season nears its end.

JTEKT Stings made a strong statement with back-to-back wins over Toray Arrows Shizuoka. American star Torey DeFalco was unstoppable, racking up 36 points in a five-set thriller on Saturday before leading his team to a dominant 3-0 sweep on Sunday.

Tokyo, on the other hand, had a rough weekend, suffering two straight-set losses to Suntory Sunbirds. But thanks to Hiroshima Thunders dropping both of their matches against Nagoya, Tokyo’s spot in the playoffs is now locked in.

Meanwhile, Wolfdogs Nagoya continued to dominate, sweeping Hiroshima in both matches with Dutch powerhouse Nimir Abdel-Aziz delivering ace after ace. As for Nippon Steel Sakai Blazers, they’re still in the hunt for the final playoff spot after putting up a fight against league leaders Osaka Bluteon, even managing to take them to five sets in one of the matches.

With another exciting round of matches coming up on March 22-23, all eyes will be on the final battle for the last playoff spot. Stay tuned!
