Denso upset Osaka in straight-set shocker | Women’s SV.League first-leg semifinals
The Women’s Daido Life SV.League semifinals opened with a stunning twist as Denso Airybees Koriyama swept Osaka Marvelous 3-0 (25-20, 25-23, 25-19) on Friday at Panasonic Arena. Middle blocker Mana Yokoyama was unstoppable, leading Denso with 16 points, while Nanami Asano and Rosamaria Montibeller backed her up with 12 points each. Despite a strong 14-point showing from Lise Van Hecke, Osaka couldn’t find their rhythm against Denso’s fierce attack.
In the other semifinal, NEC Red Rockets Kawasaki held firm at home, defeating Saga Hisamitsu Springs 3-1 (25-20, 24-26, 25-17, 25-22). Yoshino Sato starred for NEC with a superb 28-point performance, keeping their title defense on track.
