JT Marvelous and BlueCats, who advanced to V-League from V.Challenge League (Division 2) instead of Denso Airybees and Ageo Medics, achieved their debut victories. Both were successful on road.
JT Marvelous prevailed over Toyota Body Queenseis in straight sets mostly thanks to 15 points from their most efficient player Onuma Sittirak from Thailand. On the other side, Azerbaijani Polina Rahimova also had 15.
Blue Cats had to fight harder against Toray Arrows, 3-1. Yukiko Ebata highlighted winners with 22 points. Saori Sakoda collected 17 in Toray.
Okayama Seagulls was another team to open its campaign with away win. They swept NEC Red Rockets 3-0.
