Hyundai Capital just made volleyball history—and Leo was right at the heart of it.
With a powerful 19-point performance, Leonardo Leyva helped his team beat Korean Air 3-1 in Game 3 of the V-League PlayOff Finals, securing the club’s first-ever triple crown: winning the KOVO Cup, topping the regular season, and now taking the championship.
For his standout play, Leonardo Leyva was named Finals MVP, a title he’s earned for the third time in his career.
“This was the moment I was waiting for,” Leo said. “It feels amazing to write a new chapter in our team’s history.”
Head coach Philippe Blain, in his first season, guided the team to its best year ever.
Leo also became the V-League’s all-time top scorer this season, showing he’s still got it at 35. He credits better fitness and focus for his performance, even joking, “I used to be late a lot. Not anymore!”
