Aluron CMC Warta Zawiercie Clinches Semifinal Spot After Dominant Victory Over Asseco Resovia
Aluron CMC Warta Zawiercie cruised into the PlusLiga semifinals with a commanding 3-0 (27:25, 25:18, 25:18) victory over Asseco Resovia in the second quarterfinal match. With this win, the “Jurassic Knights” secured the series 2-0, having also triumphed 3-1 in the first clash.
Zawiercie’s aggressive playstyle proved too much for Resovia, who struggled to counter the relentless pressure in both attack and serve. Aluron’s serving dominance was evident with 9 aces to Resovia’s 4, and a solid offensive showing across all sets.
Aaron Russell led the charge with 16 points, while Bartosz Kwolek earned the MVP title —10 points from 14 attempts (71% attack efficiency), two aces, and a 62% positive reception rate. Mateusz Bieniek added 10 points to the tally.
On the opposing side, Stephen Boyer was the top scorer for Resovia with 17 points, supported by Bartosz Bednorz’s 11, but their efforts fell short against a unified and disciplined Zawiercie squad.
Aluron will now face the winner between PGE Projekt Warszawa and PGE GiEK Skra Bełchatów in the semifinals, continuing their hunt for PlusLiga glory.
