In nearly two and a half hour battle, hosts Vixtorm created huge comeback from 1-2 in sets to overpower KB Insurance Star VC in tie-break 3-2 (25-23, 22-25, 22-25, 25-22, 15-13).
Belarusian Artur Udrys, who was drafted this summer, was a key figure of KB Stars with 36 points (!) but, still, his team suffered defeat. On the otther side, Hungarian giant Arpad Baróti, who came to Vixtorm from German champions Berlin Recycling Volleys, topped his team with 29 points.
In women’s competition, Suwon Hyundai Engineering & Construction started their title defense road with clear victory over visiting team of Seoul GS Caltex Kixx, partially 25-20, 25-19, 25-14. Hwang Youn-Joo was the best scorer of the winning team with 19 points. Canadian Alexa Gray highlighted in Caltex with 16.
