Bluefangs
Daejeon Samsung Fire & Marine Bluefangs (20-11) defeated No.1 Cheonan Hyundai Capital Skywalkers (21-10) on the road in the well-filled stands at the Yu Gwan-Sun Gymnasium (3,421 spectators) by a 3-2 (18-25, 25-23, 25-19, 20-25, 15-13). Thus, the Bluefangs came only one win and 11 points close to the Skywalkers, five rounds before the end of the regular season. The fight for the top spot is important because the team that claims it will go directly to the playoff finals.
The Dutch Thijs ter Horst topped Bluefangs with 32 points (4 kill blocks) and improved his record in the top scorer’s list to 826 points, only 14 points less than the first-placed Krisztián Pádár, the Hungarian from Seoul Woori Card Wibee. Moon Sung-Min scored 28 points for the defending champs Skywalkers.
