The coach of Mexico, the Argentine Estanislao Vachino decided to play with bench players with the exception of Lizbeth Sainz.
His compatriot on Costarican bench Horacio Bastit faced Vachino at this match for the first time with these national teams in a Pan American Cup.
Bastit used his full squad with exeption of Viviana Murillo and Daniela Vargas.
