Barranquilla 2018 W: Colombia and Dominican Republic for gold medal

The semifinal matches were finished and we got the finalist of the XXIII Central American and Caribbean Games of Barranquilla.

Colombia defeated Mexico with 3-1 (25-14, 23-25, 25-18, 25-20) while the Dominican Republic were better than Puerto Rico 3-0 (25-22, 25-15, 25-19) so the winners will face each other in the big final of the tournament. 

Colombia reached their first ever title match at CACG thanks to Dayana Patricia Segovia Elles who led the home team with 24 points while Amanda Coneo scored 16 points. Mexico’s offense was conducted by opposite Andrea Rangel with a match-high of 29 points while Samantha Bricio scored 11 points.

In the second semifinal match, Dominican girls were without mercy against Puerto Rico. And will play the fifth consecutive match for the title. Opposite Gaila Ceneida Gonzalez Lopez topped all scorers with 17 points; Brayelin Elizabeth Martinez and Prisilla Rivera contributed with 11 points for the win. Pilar Marie Victoria scored 12 points as the only Puerto Rican player with double-figures.

Venezuela – Trinidad & Tobago

Costa Rica – Cuba
