The USA added the 7th Women’s Pan-American Volleyball Cup gold medal to their account, the 3rd consecutive, which is the longest domination in the tournament that is organized by NORCECA and serves as an All-America Qualifications for the Pan-American Games. Interestingly, the USA defeated exactly the Dominican Republic in the gold medal encounter while making a 3-year run in the tournament.
In the final match of the 18th edition of the Women’s Pan-American Volleyball Cup, in Trujillo, the United States beat the Dominican Republic by a 3-0 (25-16, 25- 21, 29-27). The North American side did not suffer a single defeat in the tournament (6-0) and lost only one set in the campaign.
Madison Kingdon-Rishel top-scored for the USA with 18 points. Gaila González was the best scorer in the Dominican Republic, who remained the national team with most medals in the tournament history (17), with 11 points.
In the bronze medal match, Colombia defeated Puerto Rico in straight sets and won their first ever medal in Women’s Pan-American Volleyball Cup.
