PAC U21 M: Sesi receiver leads Brazil to title over Cuba, both teams advance to World Championship

Brazilian National Team got crowned in the 2017 Men’s Volleyball U21 Pan American Cup in Fort McMurray, Alberta, Canada.

Brazil overcame tough opponents Cuba in the final match held at the „Syncrude Sport and Wellness Centre“ at Keyano College 3-1 (25-23, 17-25, 25-18, 25-18) to collect second consecutive gold medal in the three editions of the tournament.

MVP of the tournament, Sesi-SP youth team receiver Victor Cardoso, was Brazil’s best scorer in the gold medal match with 16 points while Miguel López had 22 points (7 aces) for Cuba.

By advancing to the finals, both teams secured their berths in the 2017 FIVB Men’s Volleyball U21 World Championships in Brno and České Budějovice, Czech Republic, from June 23 to July 2 – Brazil from South American zone and Cuba from NORCECA.

Hosts Canada won the bronze medal after beating Guatemala 3-0 (25-15, 25-17, 25-19).
