Pribuzhie Brest won the 2018/19 Belarus Women’s Volleyball Championship but still did not claim the national title!

This season in the Belarussian Women’s Volleyball Championship brought up a paradoxical situation. Pribuzhie Brest emerged victorious from the playoff finals against Zhemchuzhina Polesya Mozyr by prevailing in Game 3 in straight sets (partially: 25-21, 27-25, 25-19) and closed the series with a sweep.

Since they secured an overall better placement at the end of the regular season in the Division A 2018/2019 Women, that consisted of the two parts, Zhemchuzhina had a home ground advantage in the playoff finals but failed to convert it as Pribuzhie won first two matches away, in four and in five sets respectively, before making a final blow in front of own fans.

The team coached by Natalia Melyanyuk, who is also in charge of Belarus U19 squad and has five players from this national team in the roster for the ongoing season, will face Minchanka Minsk for the title. Minchanka are currently competing in the Russian Superliga in which they play for the placement between 9-12 place.

Pribuzhie have two Belarussian championship titles on their account (2002 and 2003), both coming when they competed under the name Kovrovshik Brest.
