Benfica
By beating the defending champions and also the second seed Sporting (24-2, 71 points) by a 3-1 (19-25, 25-23, 25-16, 25-19) in Game 4 of the Campeonato Honda 2018/2019, the top seed Benfica (25-1, 75 points) won the national title for the eighth time in the club history.
Brazilian Théo Lopes was the best scorer for Benfica in Game 4 with 22 points. The libero Ivo Casas made 76% positive reception (34 digs, two errors, 50% perfect). The Cuban veteran Ángel Dennis poured in 18 points for Sporting. Cape Verdean Hélio Sanches set up four kill blocks.
With the triumph in the national Championship, Benfica clinched the national triple crown (Super Cup, Cup, and Championship), which had not happened to the Lisbon side since the 2014/15 season.
