After beating Hylte/Halmstad in four sets, with each one being played to a two-point difference (23-25, 30-28, 27-25, 26-24), in Game 4 of the 2018/19 Elitserien, Linköpings VC won the club’s fifth national championship gold medal.

Linköpings VC took revenge on Hylte/Halmstad for the last year’s loss in the playoff finals. And this season, just like in the 2018/19 season, the second seed was better than the top seed in the title battle. The first two playoff final games ended in five sets, with each side prevailing in one, while Linköpings beat the rivals by a 3-1 in the last two encounters in the series.

Martin Larsson notched 24 points for Linköpings in Game 4. Canadian Andrew McWilliam served 4 aces, while Wilhelm Nilsson set up 6 kill blocks. American Nicholas Goodell scored 30 points for Hylte/Halmstad. The Englishman Adam Bradbury made 81% positive reception (32 digs, 38% perfect) and Philip Pettersson set up 7 kill blocks.
