The top seed Vegyész RC-Kazincbarcika, who lost only one game (19 wins) in the regular season, won the 2018/19 Férfi Extraliga by prevailing in the series of the playoff finals against the No.2 seed LV Sport Pénzügyőr with a 3-1.
In a decisive game for the championship trophy, Game 4, Kazincbarcika beat the rivals in the tie-break, partially 29-27, 14-25, 25-16, 26-28, 15-9, despite staying without the starting middle blocker Ľuboš Macko in the fifth set. The Slovak player sustained an injury at 7-1 for his team.
Dávid Szabó and Szabolcs Németh shared the best scorer’s recognition in Kazincbarcika in Game 4 as both poured in 20 points. Dániel Kiss scored 21 points for Pénzügyőr.
