Fabiana, Sheilla and Suelen (Brazil Women), Goncharova (Russia Women), and Castillo (the Dominican Republic Women) are the most famous names that have returned to play in their country’s national teams, so far, after taking a break from competing internationally for various reasons. We will add the Puerto Rican star Daly Santana to the list.
A 24-year-old outside hitter held a conversation with the Puerto Rican Volleyball Federation President (FPV) Dr. César Trabanco in which she made it clear that she was available to get back in the national team.
Santana underwent the left knee surgery in Italy, in January this year, after playing only half of the last season with Il Bisonte Firenze. After that, she had been making her recovery and is now ready to help her national team qualify for the Tokyo Olympics.
Santana’s last participation with Puerto Rico was in the 2018 FIVB World Championship in Japan, in October 2018.
