The Women’s friendly match, closed for the audience, between the current world champions Serbia and South Korea in Belgrade was ended prematurely due to a bizarre situation. Namely, Korea’s head coach Stefano Lavarini did not have any more setters at the disposal after 3 sets. The starting setter An Hye-Jin felt ill already in the plane upon arriving in Serbia and was taken to the hospital so, the visiting team played with her backup Li Dae-Yeong. But, in the third set, she injured her Achilles tendon and the match was interrupted as Lavarini had no more setters to put in. At the moment, the result was 2-1 for Serbia, partially 25-18, 25-22 and 20-25. Tijana Bošković was Serbia’s best scorer with 16 points, while Kim Yeon-Koung tallied 18.
