The Argentine Olympic Committee (COA) summoned the two confronted parties in Argentine volleyball to a dialogue table in its headquarters in Buenos Aires. The COA called President Juan Antonio Gutiérrez, one more official and Treasurer as representatives of the federation (FeVA), and Vice president Santiago Darraidou, Secretary, two legal representatives and national team players Facundo Conte, Luciano De Cecco, Julieta Lazcano and Yamila Nizetich in front of the Association of Argentine Volleyball Players (JuAVA).
The COA expressed concern about the conflict situation between the two parties that in the meantime became public. The JuAVA representatives repeated their demands which they revealed two months ago when addressing to the media and they are all related to the way FeVA leadership is conducted. The most of the discussion at the dialogue table was regarding the arrears to players for competing in the 2018 FIVB Nations League and fees for players’ transfers abroad that in some cases reached 30% in favor of FeVA.
FeVA officials promised players that they will receive the money until October 31. This occurred, as FeVA explained, due to problems they have with the current account between them and the International Volleyball Federation (FIVB) which was closed on March 31. As for the transfer fee, FeVA officials stressed that their Board of Directors has done the first steps to reduce it and will proceed with its efforts.
