Tianjin
American Destinee Hooker, Zhu Ting, and Li Yingying combined for 54 points to lead Tianjin to a sweep of Shanghai in the opener of the 2019/20 Super League playoff finals.
Hooker tallied 19 points through a 74% attack (17/23). Zhu made a 78% attack (14/18), while Yingying had 80% reception (20 digs, 70% perfect). Due to the absence of German Louise Lippmann, who went to play the Olympic Qualifications, Shanghai’s offensive power was obviously insufficient. American Jordan Larson was the only player of the losing side to score in double figures (10 points). Wang Weiyi made 82% reception (11 digs, 55% perfect).
Shanghai will host Game 2 of the best-of-5 series for the title.
