At the start of the 2020 Asian Women’s Olympic Qualification Tournament in Nakhon Ratchasima (Thailand), South Korea defeated Indonesia by a 3-0 (25-18, 25-10, 25-9) in Pool B. Korea maintained the absolute domination in mutual encounters against Indonesia, not giving away a single set in seven successive confrontations against them. Korea overwhelmed their opponents with 13-1 in the aces and 9-0 in the blocking. Kim Yeong-Koung top-scored for Korea with 12 points (4 aces) even though she played only the first 2 sets.
In the same pool, Kazakhstan got off to a perfect start to claim the victory over Iran in straight sets.
In Pool A, the hosts Thailand breezed past Chinese Taipei in a comfortable 3-0 (25-16, 25-21, 25-16) win.
