CUB: Taismary Aguero can visit her relatives in Cuba

After nearly 50 years, Cubans will be able to travel outside the country without seeking permission from the government. The most famous who had the problem was Taismary Aguero who became an Italian citizen. WorldofVolley brings you the latest volleyball news.

This incident happened on the eve of the Beijing Olympics in 2008.

The Cuban Taismary Agüero, who became a naturalized Italian, was prevented from visiting her mother in Cuba. Aguero almost quit playing the games. The player’s mother was in serious condition, and the Cuban government did not make things easier for Aguero. She spent two days in Germany awaiting the visa but she wasn’t allowed to go.

The player left Cuba in 2001 and got the Italian nationality in 2006.

Now people who want to leave Cuba will olny need a valid passport.
